What is salvation?

Salvation is God, the creator of everything (Colossians 1:16), giving us something we don't deserve. God is absolutely perfect and holy, and because we do not match His perfect and holy standards, we don't deserve to go to heaven. "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23 Salvation is God's way of getting us to heaven. He sent Christ to earth, the only man to ever live a perfect, sinless life.

How do I get saved?

Anyone can be saved, but not by doing good things, joining a church or by being baptised. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9"

God's way of salvation is through His son, Jesus Christ. "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12"

We must first acknowledge that we are sinners and that there is no way we can save ourselves. "And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved... Acts 16:31"

We must believe that Jesus Christ is God and came to earth, lived a perfect life, died for us, rose again and is now living in Heaven. "...I declare unto you the gospel...how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day... I Corinthians 15:1-4"

Finally we must repent (or give up) our sin and live like Christ. "Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. Isaiah 55:7"

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
